When you create a SharePoint site you can set the security to allow a user to request access to the site if they don’t have access. This request is sent to a specific email address. If you have someone that creates a lot of sites and is setup as the email for requests, and that person leaves the company, I needed an easy way to reset that request email to a different email address…
You can do this using code but that’s a pain so I decided to poke around in the database 🙂
Here’s a SQL statement that will change all request email addresses. The email address is stored in the “webs” table in a field called “RequestAccessEmail”.
UPDATE Webs SET RequestAccessEmail = ‘<new email>’ WHERE RequestAccessEmail = ‘<old email>’
You need to run the query in each content database.
